| The BL-C160CE is a low-cost IP camera for private users that is also used in businesses. The camera is the ideal device for checkout, shop and outdoor surveillance. Its two extra-bright LEDs increase the camera’s light efficiency, which helps to enlarge its operational range significantly. Using Universal Plug and Play (UPnP), installation of the camera is just a matter of seconds. | |
Once the integrated passive infrared sensor (PIR) triggers an alarm event, the camera stops overwriting pictures that are already stored in the buffer memory. This sensor can detect the temperature of humans, animals and objects: If an object that enters the range of the sensor creates a change in the heat radiation pattern, it sends a signal to the camera that triggers the alarm. Static thermal differences that occur naturally, for instance by sunlight, are ignored by the sensor. The recorded pictures are sent to an FTP server automatically. At the same time, they can be sent to a previously configured email address.
The built-in web interface gives access to pictures and camera settings. The pictures can be accessed as single slides in JPEG format or video files in MPEG or MPEG4 format. The MPEG4 format offers an astonishingly high picture quality at low memory requirements. The camera is controlled through a web interface, and for evaluation of the pictures, the camera is supplied with special software.
Power supply over Power over Ethernet is possible over the supplied Injector. With the help of a mains socket, the optional Panasonic HD-PLC adaptor makes network configuration really easy: Every socket turns into a potential access point to your network. | | | | |

| Cameras simultaneously send MPEG-4 images in three resolutions (VGA*1, QVGA, and SCIF), and JPEG images in the same three resolutions in favour motion, standard, and favour clarity image-quality types. MPEG-4 is recommended for viewing smooth motion images, and JPEG is recommended for recording higher quality images.
